Hey peeps! I'm currently planning my first ever solo travel beginning of next year and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I'm going to Tanzania on a tour and instead of flying back to Brisbane, I'll be heading off to Berlin to start off my (hopefully) year-long round-the-world trip. It's a bit optimistic on my part considering the amount of savings I have but gotta keep my fingers crossed! First leg of my RTW trip is in Europe where I'm hoping to stay for 6 months. I am a photographer/filmmaker by profession which makes me want to stay in each city I'm visiting longer (2 weeks each). Here's a list of cities on my itinerary: Berlin -> Krakow -> Bucharest -> Sofia -> Santorini -> Sarajevo -> Belgrade -> Budapest -> Bratislava -> Barcelona -> Porto Here are my questions: What do you think of my itinerary? I looked at the map and tried to do a full circle as I'm hoping to go to the UK after Portugal. How should I go about booking flights and accommodation? I'm thinking of just flying with RyanAir between countries and bus/rail/walk within the city.
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, the Cradle of Humankind currently occupies 47, 000 hectares (470km 2) and contains a complex of limestone caves. Maropeng means "returning to the place of origin" in Setswana, the main indigenous language in this area of South Africa. The Cradle of Humankind is one of eight World Heritage Sites in South Africa, and the only one in Gauteng. It is widely recognised as the place from which all of humankind originated. The site has unearthed the best evidence of the complex journey our species has taken to make us what we are. It is not only a place of ongoing scientific discovery into our origins, but also a place of contemplation - a place that allows us to reflect on who we are, where we come from and where we are going. The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site has become a major international tourism destination with a total of 387 tourism attractions including 91 graded establishments.
