I didn't find people on my course in my accommodation so this was a problem for me. There aren't any common rooms or social meeting places but kitchens are roomy enough for pres and the grassy area outside is used for socialising. Subwardens weren't much help but there weren't too many issues that required them. You can only collect parcels and visit reception at certain times of day which wasn't a big issue. A big disadvantage is there's no where to park; you can't use the car park and the road opposite is always full. If you move in/out over Christmas/Easter/Summer it's a nightmare trying to find somewhere to put the car. The bins get emptied for you on weekdays and the stairways are tidied although all other cleaning is your responsibility. Overall I would definitely recommend! Read Henry Price Residences Reviews Great location in terms of it being on campus, however many people make friends in first year with the people on their course that they walk to uni with so it may be more difficult in that respect.
Quote "I picked Henry Price Halls due to the extreme convenience of being on campus yet at an affordable price. The fact that it is on campus means that walking to lectures takes only a matter of minutes and I can make quick trips back to the flat if I have a spare hour or if I forget anything. They also have terrible terrible maintenance service. My shower hasn't been working properly 2 months now. I've reported this issue properly for several times throughout these two months. 2 maintenance guys came on different occasions to fix the shower many days after I had reported the problem. The shower is still yet to be fixed till now. The Henry Price Reception is even worse. Did I already mention that it opens for 4 hours a day and only 5 days a week??????? Many of my parcels were sent back to the local delivery office because of their inflexible working hours. In case of emergency, I guess you really have to be dying in order for them to get off their bottoms and attend to you. Terrible hall service but good location, very close to Uni. The negatives definitely outweighs the positives. Being right on campus means you can get up at 8:45 for a 9am, you're close to town, Headingley and Hyde Park. Maintainance has been fine! Things will break over time if they're constantly in use eg. The main light in my room died but it was fixed in a reasonable time and it' not broken since! Reception is only open a few hours a day but you can always pick up your post the next day! The staff are very friendly and good about things eg. If you lock yourself out etc Rooms are a good size. The storage is great! You get two big draws (by big I mean I fit in them) under the bed and room for another, a bedside cabinet, a big wardrobe, space above the wardrobe, draws and shelves by your desk. You are practically en suite but because its technically shared, it gets cleaned occasionally! Kitchen is sick for pres, group study when the libraries are full and just hanging out. As you don't need transport it's great value! Sure, it's a bit old, the reception is only open 4 hours a day and you have to share one sink and a kitchen with about 9 people. I've had issues with heaters twice now, but reception happily hand you a temp heater and fix it within 3 days. At the end of the day, this is uni accommodation, so it's never going to be perfect. The location is amazing and trust me, location is one of the most important things - I started the year at Lib Dock and the unreliable busses made it really inconvenient for me to join any socs, or meet up with friends in Headingley. Additionally, the hall is really good value for money to begin with, but being on campus itself means you don't have to spend much on transport. I think that having 9 people in your flat is perfect, because the chances are you'll get on with at least one of them. There's lots of storage space, big wardrobes, and sharing with only one other person is basically an ensuite. Any letters are sent to a flat post box which can be opened at any time however to get larger parcels you would have to wait for the office to open. The halls are really sociable and quite noisy, perfect for people who like to party but not everyone goes out. Washing: Bike/car storage: There is bike storage at the front of the accommodation which can be accessed through the fob used to access the flat door. There are car parking spaces but they don't allow you to park here unless for medical reasons. It is open on the day you arrive but after that they do not let people use it as it is used by the university instead so do not bring a car!!! Before you arrive: Make sure you do the eintro thing on the portal and book a time slot to arrive. It doesn't matter if you're late but you need to have done that. It takes about half an hour to do.

Hi everyone, i am in my first year of university in Leeds and live in the Henry Price Accommodation. Before I moved in i tried to find information on the halls and could only find posts from years ago so i thought i would make a new one as a lot of the information is outdated on the old one. General: SO to start with you'll be living in a flat of nine mixed sex and sharing a bathroom between two (same sex). I will discuss each of the areas separately below. I have split the dining area and kitchen in half even though they are in on big open space. Kitchen: You get - 3 fridge freezers (one fridge shelf, one freezer shelf each) 9 square cupboards for food which can be padlocked 2 microwaves 1 oven 2 oven tops (8 hobs altogether) a range of different cupboards and draws for cutlery and dishes 1 sink 1 iron 1 ironing board mop, bucket, brush, hoover, dustpan and little brush 2 recycle bins 1 general waste bin The kitchens have just been refurbished so look different to the online pictures.
